Universal Protect has been developed without the use of “leaching agents” or toxic materials. We successfully married our SiO2 Technology with a “3-(trimethoxysilyl) propyldimethyloctadecyl ammonium chloride” or silane-quat (si-quat) molecule to offer a safe, effective alternative to traditional pathogen control systems.
The micro biostatic antimicrobial coating forms a protective surface protection, by forming a nano bed of microscopic tips that destroys the membrane of the microorganism, resulting in loss of energy in the microbe and its death.
This breakthrough technology provides the future of long-term surface protection by inhibiting microorganisms without the use of unsafe heavy metals or poisons. This mechanism of action is completely unique to other antimicrobials products on the market.
The coating adheres to the surface using a covalent bond which is highly durable and long lasting. The surfaces can be porous or non-porous along as the surface is non-absorbent.
Due to the advanced technology no bacteria or microbe can become resistant to the surface, this is due to the key feature of our modified SiO2 particles, which form sharp peaks on the surface that are large enough to penetrate the cell walls of various microbes. Since they only have about a thousandth of a human hair, they are too small to damage large cells in human child baby or mammals or skin.
